I like the picture for defining the character of the scene -the typical wet afternoon on a coamine premises. The dreary scene is articulated wonderfully in the sticky wet background of the picture.

One more photo that speaks- of the intrepid human spirit .In the midst of all that murder and mayhem a handful of children are blissfully playing in the streets of houses riddled with bullets.

A nice B.B.C. image of an Israeli soldier praying in the shadow of a military tank

Looking back in my Google Notebook collections I have found this gem of a BBC picture .

“The town of Chaiten, south of Santiago in Chile, has been evacuated, leaving only animals, following the eruption of the Chaiten volcano for the first time in recent memory…”

The picture does not call for celebration because the residents have left the town on account of a volcanic eruption leaving only the animals behind .The picture is lovely one but what about the animals? It hurts to think .

A wonderful BBC picture ,as usual, which displays an uncanny instinct for spotting a photo-op and exploiting the fantastic creative possibilities that only the BBC staffers can do.

I love this Moris folk dance(in England) being performed at dawn. The dance with the sticks is so much like the Garba dance practiced in India.
